Edens Lost and Found

In 2006, CNT was featured in the book and PBS series, Eden’s Lost & Found, a special four-part PBS series. The series highlighted practical solutions and models for urban transformation in four U.S. cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Seattle. One of the goals of the project was to encourage residents to get involved whether at home, at work, at school or in the neighborhood in endeavors that promote more sustainable development.

As part of the series, CNT and partners produced an Action Guide highlighting the work of a handful of notable organizations that play a role in making sure that the Chicago region provides a nurturing environment to all species. The Action Guide helps individuals learn about what they can do to make the Chicago region more sustainable by connecting them to a diverse set of organizations working across the region to advance urban sustainability.

The online Action Guide provides a list and map of organization in the Chicago area. Visit it at http://edens.cnt.org/.

This Action Guide was made possible through a generous grant from Edens Lost & Found. The following organizations collaborated on its development: Chicago Park District, Chicago Wilderness, Congress for the New Urbanism, The Field Museum, Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and Openlands Project.
